Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Our Mission:
We will love our neighbors as ourselves. If our neighbors are hungry, we will provide food. If they are cold, we will provide clothing. If they are lonely, we will pray with and comfort them. As faithful stewards of God's grace, we will always proclaim the life-giving message of Jesus Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To Him be the glory. |
Our Beliefs:
Do you know Him? It is the most important question you can be asked. We believe that your answer to that question determines your eternal destiny, because apart from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we can never fulfill God's purposes for our lives. We share the beliefs of Manchester Christian Church, and believe that we have been called to this ministry as a practical expression of God's love for the people of our community. |
Our Story:
The core group of nine people who started do you know Him? Ministries is the same group that initiated the first Manchester stop for the Rise Again Outreach clothing bus, which was inspired by an outreach project of a Manchester Christian Church (MCC) small group. Rise Again Outreach’s Manchester bus stop began in November 2010, serving 35 neighbors and has now reached hundreds at stops on both sides of the city. While distributing clothing and personal care items, we were asked for food items. Although not designed as a food ministry, we brought canned food items the following month; however, our neighbors were asking for food they could eat right then, as some of them had not eaten that day. After partnering with Larck Family Missions for a few weeks, we prayerfully decided to start a Sunday breakfast on New Year’s Day of 2012. With a temperature of -2°, we served 40 cold neighbors coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal, muffins, and fruit. Later in 2102 we started serving cooked breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Although there is a focus on the physical feeding, we are even more inspired about the spiritual feeding. We begin each breakfast with a message and a prayer to give them hope that day and during the week when we are not with them. Those serving on the ministry team engage with our neighbors, pray with them, and share God’s love for them. Since our beginning, the do you know Him? Ministries have grown steadily, blessed by the Holy Spirit. More than 200 volunteers take turns cooking and serving breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. Since 2012, we served over 100,000 meals, and more importantly, witnessed 150 of our neighbors accept Christ as their Savior and follow Him in baptism. We have also begun offering several opportunities for Bible study throughout the week. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are also considering expanding the scope of the ministry to include prison ministry and other opportunities to bring God's love to people in our community. |
